A Saddle Stone bomber jacket in a microfibre suede, in a saddle brown, with a stand collar that closes on a snap tab, a two-way steel zip and ribbed cuffs and hem. The shell is a fine polyester pile with a little elastane, brushed to a short nap: it has the matte surface and soft hand of suede, moves with the body, and weighs a good deal less than a hide. Between it and the smooth lining is a light wadding of merino wool and polyester. Cut regular through the shoulder and body, with room for a shirt or a fine knit, it is the jacket for the long stretch of the year between a shirt and a coat.

DESCRIPTION

The shell is a microfibre suede: a fine polyester pile with a little elastane, brushed to a short nap, so it has the matte surface and soft hand of suede, moves with the body, and weighs a good deal less than a hide. Where the nap lies one way the colour reads a shade darker, where it lies the other a shade lighter, so the jacket changes a little with every movement and with the light.

A stand collar frames the neck and closes on a steel snap tab when the wind asks for it; left open, it sits flat. The front closes with a two-way steel zip with a tonal leather pull, so the hem can be opened from below when sitting without unzipping the whole jacket. The pockets enter vertically at the side and close with snap tabs, and the front is otherwise clean. Cuffs and hem are ribbed, which is what holds the bomber's line at the waist, and between the shell and the smooth lining is a light wadding of merino wool and polyester, for warmth without bulk.

It is cut regular through the shoulder and body, with room for a shirt or a fine knit underneath, and it is the jacket for the long stretch of the year between a shirt and a coat: over a T-shirt on the first cool evening, over a roll neck in January, and in the bag for a week somewhere colder.

• Wadding: 50% merino wool, 50% polyester
• Trims: ribbed knit cuffs and hem; two-way steel zip with a tonal leather pull; steel snaps at the collar and pockets

Care Instructions
• Dry clean only, with the leather pull protected
• Do not wash
• Do not bleach
• Do not tumble dry
• Cool iron on the reverse if needed, never on the leather
• Brush lightly with a soft brush to lift the nap
• Store on a broad hanger in a cool, dry place
